Behind the Scenes: The MTM x Lights Off Video Shoot
A launch like no other—it was clear from the start that the MTM x Lights Off collection needed to debut with a bang. The idea came to me after watching a video of the Porsche 968 L'Art. It sparked the concept: a short story, filled with humor and intrigue, that would conclude by revealing the collection. Throughout the video, every actor would wear the MTM x Lights Off shirts, subtly showcasing them in every scene.
The Plan Comes Together
I scraped together the last funds in the company account to hire a professional camera team. I borrowed a car from MTM, turned a private workshop into a studio, and wrote the script myself. Friends stepped in as actors, and I even handled the catering. Every detail of the video was crafted to balance high-quality production with cost efficiency and a self-made touch.
The designs, featuring the legendary MTM RS6 and Bimoto, were ready. The Bimoto became part of the set, adding an authentic connection to the story. Unfortunately, the RS6 wasn’t available, and I had to pivot to another vehicle. It wasn’t ideal, but we made it work.
Turning a Workshop into a Studio
With a vision in mind, I transformed the workshop in just two hours. Windows were blacked out, lighting was installed, fog machines were set up, and pops of color added depth to the scene. What started as a simple garage now looked like a professional film set.
The Shoot: A Team Effort
Armed with the script, we worked efficiently, avoiding unnecessary takes. Despite this, the shoot stretched to a 10-hour marathon. Everyone on set—from my friends acting in front of the camera to the Fireflyt camera team—gave their all. The Fireflyt team went above and beyond, delivering bonus footage that wasn’t part of the initial agreement. Their professionalism and creativity elevated the entire project.
I owe a massive thank you to everyone involved. Without the collective effort of my friends and the camera team, this project would never have been possible.
The Pressure of Perfection
As I write this, I haven’t seen the final cut yet. But if the behind-the-scenes shots and raw footage are anything to go by, it’s going to exceed expectations. The timeline is tight—the video is set to be ready just one day before the launch. There’s no room for error, but as a racing driver, I’m used to pressure. I know the team and I have delivered something amazing, and I’m confident the launch will be a success.
Lights Off: A Vision in Motion
This video is more than a launch—it’s a celebration of what Lights Off stands for: creativity, passion, and the drive to make things happen no matter the obstacles. It’s about fast cars, great collaborations, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Stay tuned for the final video and get ready to experience the MTM x Lights Off collection like never before.
